PRELUDE

THANKSGIVING FOR BAPTISM*

Blessed be the holy Trinity, ☩ one God, living water, solid rock, and our light. Amen.

Water may be poured into the font.

We thank you God, You delivered Noah and his family from the flood. You led your people through the sea into freedom. You were baptized and baptize us! By water and your Word you claim us as daughters and sons.

We praise you for the gift of Living Water.

Amen.

GATHERING SONG*  “O Christ, Our Hope” ELW 604

1. O Christ, our hope, our hearts’ desire, creation’s mighty Lord, redeemer of the fallen world,

by holy love outpoured, by holy love outpoured:

2. How vast your mercy to accept the burden of our sin,

and bow your head in cruel death

to make us clean within, to make us clean within.

3. But now the bonds of death are burst, the ransom has been paid; you reign above at God’s right hand,

in robes of light arrayed, in robes of light arrayed.

4. Oh, let your mighty love prevail to purge us of our pride,

that we may stand before your throne

by mercy purified, by mercy purified.

5. All praise to you, ascended Lord; all glory ever be

to Father, Son, and Spirit blest

through all eternity, through all eternity!

GREETING*

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you.

CANTICLE OF PRAISE*                     ELWsetting 8

Kyrie eleison, on our world and on our way, Kyrie eleison, ev’ry day.

For peace in the world, for the health of the church, for the unity of all; for this holy house, for all who worship and praise, let us pray to the Lord, let us pray to the Lord (Refrain)

That we may live out your impassioned response to the hungry and the poor; that we may live out truth and justice and grace,

let us pray to the Lord, let us pray to the Lord (Refrain)

For peace in our hearts, for peace in our homes, for friends and family; for life and for love, for our work and our play, let us pray to the Lord, let us pray to the Lord (Refrain)

For your Spirit to guide; that you center our lives in the water and the Word; that you nourish our souls with your body and blood,

let us pray to the Lord, let us pray to the Lord (Refrain)

PRAYER OF THE DAY*

Faithful God, most merciful judge, you care for all children with firmness and compassion. By your Spirit nurture your creation, that we may be rooted in the way of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

give me an undivided heart to re- | vere your name.

12I will thank you, O Lord my God, with | all my heart,

and glorify your name for- | evermore.

 13For great is your | love toward me;

HYMN OF DAY* We Plow the Fields ELW 680

APOSTLE’S CREED* Lector

With the whole church, let us confess our faith.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

he descended into hell.

On the third day he rose again;

he ascended into heaven,

he is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen.

THE PRAYERS*       Lector

Let us offer our prayers for the church, those in need, and all of creation.

A brief silence.

O God, you call for reconciliation and truth both near and far. Guide your church as it seeks your wisdom and shares it. Hear us, O God.

Your mercy is great.

You brought forth all creation and called it good. Direct us to protect lands and seas, through conservation of natural resources. Hear us, O God.

Your mercy is great.

You desire peace among nations and peoples. Guard our neighborhoods from hatred, watch over police officers and firefighters. Hear us, O God.

Your mercy is great.

You are gracious and merciful, comforting those who suffer any affliction (especially):

07/16

The Rytel family, dealing with the passing of Joel Rytel (Uhlers)

Annelia’s sister Delilia , thyroid cancer diagnosis.

Snyder family health issues.

Jennifer, healing and answers.

Julio Arencibia, heart attack recovery (Uhlers)

07/09

Comfort for the family of Barbara Dinger who passed

Comfort for the family of Marcus Campbell who passed

Bob Maez, released from hospital, will be recovering at a rehab center for physical therapy.

Hear us, O God.

Your mercy is great.

You send faithful people to proclaim freedom from bondage and to renew your church. Encourage us by the witness of the faithful departed. Hear us, O God.

Your mercy is great.

Into your hands, O God, we commend all for whom we pray, in the name of the one who reconciled all creation to himself, Jesus Christ our Savior.

Amen.

PEACE

The peace of Christ be with you always. And also with you.

MEAL

TESTIMONY Ralph Dieter (8:30am)

OFFERING

An offering is gathered for the mission of the church, including the care of those in need. During this time, the table is set.

OFFERING HYMN “Holy Spirit”

Holy Spirit living Breath of God

Breathe new life into my willing soul

Let the presence of the risen Lord

Come renew my heart and make me whole

Cause Your word to come alive in me

Give me faith for what I cannot see

Give me passion for Your purity

Holy Spirit breathe new life in me

Holy Spirit come abide within

May Your joy be seen in all I do

Love enough to cover ev’ry sin

In each thought and deed and attitude

Kindness to the greatest and the least

Gentleness that sows the path of peace

Turn my strivings into works of grace

Breath of God show Christ in all I do

Holy Spirit from creation’s birth

Giving life to all that God has made

Show Your power once again on earth

Cause Your church to hunger for Your ways

Let the fragrance of our pray’rs arise

Lead us on the road of sacrifice

That in unity the face of Christ

May be clear for all the world to see

OFFERING PRAYER*

God of desert and mountain, spring and space, you are the creator. Sustain us with these gifts of your creation. Amen.

GREAT THANKSGIVING*

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

It is indeed right,…

we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

SANCTUS*

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of pow’r and might,

Heaven and earth are full of your glory, full of your glory.

Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest.

THANKSGIVING AT THE TABLE*

LORD’S PRAYER*

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
