PROCESSIONAL GOSPEL

Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew, chapter 21. Glory to you O Lord!

Matthew 21:1-11

The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you O Christ!

BLESSING OF PALMS

The Lord be with you. And also with you.
Let us pray. We praise you, O God, for redeeming the world through our Savior Jesus Christ. Today he entered the holy city in triumph and was proclaimed messiah and king by those who spread garments and branches along his way. Bless these branches and those who carry them.

Grant us grace to follow our Lord in the way of the cross, so that, joined to his death and resurrection, we enter into life with you; through the same Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

PROCESSION

Let us go forth in peace, in the name of Christ. Amen.

GATHERING HYMN

All Glory, Laud, and Honor

Refrain All glory, laud, and honor to you, redeemer, king, to whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring.
1 You are the king of Israel and David’s royal Son, now in the Lord’s name coming, our King and Blessed One.  Refrain
2 The company of angels are praising you on high; creation and all mortals  in chorus make reply.  Refrain

Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

PRAYER OF THE DAY

Everlasting God, in your endless love for the human race you sent our Lord Jesus Christ to take on our nature and to suffer death on the cross. In your mercy enable us to share in his obedience to your will and in the glorious victory of his resurrection, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

Let your steadfast love come to us, O Lord. Save us as you promised; we will trust your word.

GOSPEL

Matthew 26:14-27:66

SERMON

“Speak the Truth” by Pastor Wesley Menke

HYMN OF THE DAY

1 O sacred head, now wounded, with grief and shame weighed down, now scornfully surrounded with thorns, thine only crown; O sacred head, what glory, what bliss till now was thine! Yet, though despised and gory, I joy to call thee mine.

2 How pale thou art with anguish, with sore abuse and scorn; how does thy face now languish, which once was bright as morn! Thy grief and bitter passion were all for sinners’ gain; mine, mine was the transgression, but thine the deadly pain.

3 Lord, be my consolation; shield me when I must die; remind me of thy passion when my last hour draws nigh. These eyes, new faith receiving, from thee shall never move; for all who die believing die safely in thy love.

APOSTLE’S CREED

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Into your hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

BLESSING

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord’s face shine on you with grace and mercy. The Lord look upon you with favor and ☩ give you peace. Amen.

SENDING SONG

1 Go to dark Gethsemane, all who feel the tempter’s pow’r; your Redeemer’s conflict see. Watch with him one bitter hour; turn not from his griefs away; learn from Jesus Christ to pray.

2 Follow to the judgment hall, view the Lord of life arraigned; oh, the wormwood and the gall! Oh, the pangs his soul sustained! Shun not suff’ring, shame, or loss; learn from him to bear the cross.

3 Calv’ry’s mournful mountain climb; there, adoring at his feet, mark that miracle of time, God’s own sacrifice complete. “It is finished!” hear him cry; learn from Jesus Christ to die.

PEACE & DISMISSAL

The peace of Christ be with you always. And also with you.
Go in peace. Christ is with you. Thanks be to God.

So sorry Brenda. We discovered the cause of the prolonged echo/feedback. There is a new video up that has cut out the echo. Thanks for letting us know!

Pastor Wesley: There was too much LOUD music and other speaking and you could not be heard or understood until the sermon. which I loved. I loved that it was done at the
church it made it feel more like a worship service. Thank you!
